Pre-owned and second-hand
refer to the entire market of products that have already had a first life. Whether sold or simply given away, a pre-owned product is a generic term that applies to both C2C (consumer-to-consumer) and B2C (business-to-consumer) transactions.
A product is refurbished
when it undergoes a specialized factorty to be wiped, sorted, tested, renovated and cleaned according to strict specifications. It is often repackaged for sale with a warranty of up to 24 months. The term "refurbished" is currently being regulated.
The cumulative number of unused smartphones per capita in France amounts to 30 million, representing 6,000 tons of e-waste. At Twice, we collect these smartphones from businesses, individuals and retailers to give them a second life.
